Transcripts
Although it is not required, an official and sealed transcript can be submitted for transferring credits. Please note that credit transferability depends on several factors and will be decided after transcript is reviewed.
We accept international diplomas and transcripts with an official translation. Applicability will be determined after review.
General education credits (i.e., English, College Algebra, Psychology) may be considered for transfer if they are from an accredited school. Applied general education credits, such as Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology and Medical Ethics, will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Core classes for Diagnostic Medical Sonography may only be considered if from a nationally or regionally-accredited college or university.
Transfer applicants must present an official transcript from their last attended college or university with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or above (based on a 4.0 scale) on all work attempted and must be in good academic standing at the last institution attended in order to be admitted to GCHI.
Georgia Clinic Healthcare Institute awards credit for prior academic or professional experience and life experiences through prior learning assessment (PLA), such as DANTES, College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP), or American Council on Education (ACE) recommendations for select courses only.
Clinicals
Clinical and externship courses are mandatory for all programs. During these rotations, students gain valuable experience in their particular area, as well as learning how to interact appropriately with the patients, their family members and fellow healthcare professionals. During all clinical rotations, students will work under the supervision of qualified and certified healthcare professionals.
Georgia Clinic Healthcare Institute is affiliated with hospitals, clinics and private medical practices at which our students will complete their clinical requirements. Additionally, as part of GA Clinic PC, GCHI students have access to clinics across Metro Atlanta including primary and specialty care, pharmacies, radiology departments, and more!
Clinical rotations are held during the regular business hours of the clinical site. Therefore, students must keep the possibility of having to adjust their scheduled work hours or child care for this in mind. Placement and schedules vary, depending on both clinical site and student volume.
Clinical rotations typically commence as students approach the end of their program. Before being assigned to a clinical site and qualified healthcare professional, lab instructors will assess student preparedness through individual performance evaluations.
